Event Production Show 2021

The Hardstaff Barriers team is excited to be attending a major events exhibition this week – the first event the company has attended in person in over a year.

The company’s hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) and event security experts will be available to offer advice at the Event Production Show at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre, Hampshire, on May 26 and 27, 2021.

Niall Griffin, a former police Inspector and leading UK counter-terrorism expert, will be in attendance to raise awareness among show visitors of the need to properly secure events to protect them against terrorist incidents, in particular vehicle as a weapon attacks.

At stand F22, Hardstaff will be showcasing its range of HVM products, which are all approved to standards including EN 1317, IWA 14-1, PAS68 and VADS approved. You can find our full product brochure here.

As experts in the safety and security barrier industry, Hardstaff is the appointed contractor for the UK Government’s National Barrier Asset (NBA) framework. As part of this important role, the company has installed security barriers at numerous high-profile events and at significant sites, providing robust and reliable protection against vehicle-borne attacks.

Niall, who was previously a Counter-Terrorist Security Co-ordinator (CT SecCo), will also be available at the Hardstaff Barriers’ stand to offer advice and information to visitors in relation to Martyn’s Law.

The proposed new law, which was established in honour of Martyn Hett, one of the 22 victims tragically killed in a terrorist attack at the Manchester Arena in 2017, would see the British public better protected against terrorist attacks.

The Hardstaff team is closely backing Martyn’s Law, also known as Protect Duty, a proposed piece of legislation that aims to create a coherent and proportionate approach to protective security.

There is no current legislation in the UK that is aimed solely at providing counter-terrorism protective security or preparedness outcomes for publicly accessible locations.

Niall said: “We are delighted to be able to attend the Event Production Show this year in person. It’s an important exhibition for the events industry across sports, music and culture and we’re really looking forward to meeting visitors to find out how we can help to make their events more safe and secure.

“Public safety should be the highest priority for any event organiser, and Hardstaff has the knowledge and expertise to offer advice and recommend the most suitable products for events of all sizes. We look forward to seeing you there!”
